Every family has a story. Sometimes the story needs space to change.
Putting the family first. Creating space for healing, understanding and change.
At Delvenisia Consultations, we believe that when one member of a family is struggling, it can affect the entire family system. Equally, the relationships, environment and experiences surrounding a person can influence how they cope, communicate and heal.
That is why family is at the heart of our practice.
With 15 years of experience in the social-work field, our approach combines family-centred practice with trauma-informed techniques, recognising that every family has its own story, strengths, challenges and ways of coping.
We Look at the Whole Picture
Rather than focusing only on the presenting problem, we explore the bigger picture:
- What has the family experienced?
- How are family members communicating?
- What patterns keep repeating?
- How has trauma affected the family?
- What does each person need to feel heard and understood?
- What strengths already exist within the family?
- What can be done differently moving forward?
Our goal is not to assign blame. It is to create understanding, safety and meaningful change.
Our Family-Centred Support
We can support families experiencing:
Family conflict
Creating space to understand different perspectives, reduce conflict and improve communication.
Parent-child difficulties
Helping parents and children rebuild connection, understand emotional needs and develop healthier ways of relating.
Trauma within the family
Supporting individuals and families affected by difficult or overwhelming experiences while working at a pace that respects safety and readiness.
Separation and divorce
Helping families navigate change, emotional adjustment and the impact of separation on children and parents.
Co-parenting
Supporting parents to communicate more effectively and keep children’s emotional wellbeing at the centre.
Grief and loss
Helping families process loss together while recognising that each family member may experience grief differently.
Blended families
Supporting families as they adjust to new relationships, roles, boundaries and expectations.
Parenting challenges
Providing practical support around behaviour, boundaries, communication and children’s emotional wellbeing.
Family transitions
Supporting families through significant changes such as relocation, changing family structures, new stages of life and other major transitions.
Generational patterns
Exploring patterns that may have travelled through generations and identifying opportunities to create healthier ways of relating.
Our Trauma-Informed Approach
Trauma-informed care means recognising that people’s behaviour and emotional responses often make more sense when we understand what they have experienced.
We prioritise:
Safety — creating an environment where people can feel respected and heard.
Trust — building relationships that allow families to engage at a comfortable pace.
Choice — involving people in the process rather than making decisions for them.
Collaboration — working with families rather than simply working on them.
Strengths — recognising resilience, resources and what is already working.
Empowerment — helping individuals and families develop greater understanding, confidence and practical coping skills.
We use appropriate trauma-informed techniques to support emotional regulation, grounding, communication, coping, relationship building and resilience.
Healing is not always about changing one person.
Sometimes, healing begins when we understand the relationships, patterns and experiences surrounding the person.
At Delvenisia Consultations, we believe that families can learn new ways of communicating, reconnecting and supporting one another.
“Every family has a story. Our role is to help create space for a healthier next chapter.”
Family First. Healing Together. Growing Forward.
Whether your family is experiencing conflict, trauma, separation, grief, parenting difficulties or simply struggling to reconnect, you do not have to wait until things become overwhelming to seek support.
There is always a place to begin.
